In January an extraordinary art gallery opened in Tasmania, Australia. MONA – which stands for the Museum of Old and New Art.
MOFO – the abbreviation of the abbreviation MONA FOMA, is an interesting and eclectic annual contemporary music festival curated by Violent Femmes Bassist Brian Ritchie, which showcases the work of artists in a broad range of art forms, including sound, noise, dance, theatre, visual art, performance & new media.
‘Chiri’ (SImon Barker, Bae Il-Dong, Scott Tinkler) played the main stage at the wharf, drawing a huge crowd which gave a raptuous response.
Intangible Asset Number 82 had two screenings, and Bae Il-Dong and Scott Tinkler and Simon Barker gave workshops.
Between all the music it was great to have the opportunity to show Bae Il-Dong some of the wonderful Tasmanian landscape.
