13th to 15th of January is Jazz Groove’s 3rd annual Summer Festival in Sydney, with a fantastic program curated by musicians.

Join us at 5pm for the Gala Night on Saturday the 14th January at the Tom Mann Theatre, followed by a Q&A with Simon Barker and Emma Franz. After the screening will be two wonderful performances by two Freedman Fellows and their bands – Ben Hauptmann’s BOB and Matt mcMahon’s Paths and Streams.

The Smithsonian Museum in Washington will host a screening of Intangible Asset Number 82, followed by a performance from Simon Barker, Bae Il-Dong and Kim Dong-Won and then Q&A with Emma Franz and the artists. EVent commences with screening at 7pm, November 18th, 2011, at the Freer Gallery. See further details here

The following night, November 19th, the Museum with present a full concert with Barker, Bae and Kim joined by preeminent Australian trumpet player Scott Tinkler.
